Queen Anne County Commissioners,

I am concerned about the strange circumstances surrounding the petition for referendum on the Four Seasons project. Perhaps someone just needs to explain it to me in plain language. I am not a lawyer and don't understand the legalese. Unfortunately, most people don't and we are left with our mouths gaping at what seems to be happening in our county. Here is what I see:

1) Some of the citizens of Queen Anne's County disagree about how development is progressing in the county.

2) Those that are still optimistic about the democracy in our government rally the Queen Anne's County residents, and assure them that they do have a voice.

3) With the acknowledgement of the Queen Anne County Commissioners those optimistic souls circulate a petition and find they have a great deal of support and that Queen Anne County residents are waking up and finding their voices.

4) The county finds out there is a great deal of support for this referendum and finds a way to declare it "deficient".

I cannot be the only one who sees it this way, after all, why wasn't the petition rejected before the 4,400 signatures were submitted? I assure you that you are not winning any support.
