### KIDL Press Release ###

UPDATE ON ACTIVITIES OF KENT ISLAND DEFENSE LEAGUE

Four Seasons Critical Area Growth Allocation:

In August 2001 KIDL filed two actions in Queen Anne's County Circuit Court related to the Four Seasons Growth Allocation.  On January 15, 2002 Judge Sause heard arguments related to the approval process and technical compliance from KIDL, the State of Maryland, Queen Anne's County, and the developer.  Judge Sause is considering these arguments and will issue his findings on the motions.

Citizens Petition for Referendum:

In October, 2001 KIDL filed action in Queen Anne's County Circuit Court appealing the finding of deficiency of the Petition.  The Citizens' Referendum Petition sought to put the Queen Anne's County Ordinance granting Critical Area Growth Allocation to Four Seasons on the ballot in November 2002.  Motions are still being filed and KIDL expects to present arguments to the Court early in March.  KIDL is optimistic that the Court will uphold our contention that the Citizens' Petition is valid.

2002 Membership Drive Continues:

The Kent Island Defense League continues its fund-raising Membership Drive.  Membership funds and donations make it possible for the League to continue activities such as the Appeals mentioned above.  Checks may be made out to the Kent Island Defense League (KIDL), P. O. Box 692, Stevensville, MD  21666.  More information on League activities can be found on the website at www.SaveKentIsland.org
