Gibson's Grant up for
vote
The Queen Anne's County Planning
Commission will vote Thursday on parts of the proposed 750-home Gibson's
Grant community.
White's Heritage Partnership
has asked the commission to approve sketches of the development planned
for Piney Creek Road in Chester.
The commission will also
consider:
An
amendment to the county's water and sewer plan that would allow the development
to generate more wastewater.
Whether
12.41 acres of land in the Critical Area should be redesignated to allow
intense development.
Whether
to reduce the required buffer along the Chester River shore from 300 to
100 feet.
The meeting starts at 8:45
a.m. at the Liberty Building in Centreville, with discussion on the Gibson's
Grant issues beginning at 10 a.m. During the afternoon, the planning commissioners
will make a formal recommendation on the county's 2002 Comprehensive Plan.

FROM KIDL: The Planning Commission
yesterday approved the Sketch Plan and a reduced shore buffer (from 300'
to 100') along the Chester River for Gibson's Grant. This is NOT
final subdivision approval but is an important step in the process for
the developer. Watch the papers for more details and please let the
County know your opinion of this development. Look at a map of the
shoreline between Cloverfields and Kent Narrows. Four Seasons will
develop the area from Cloverfields to Macum Creek and Gibsons Grant most
of the area from Macum Creek to Piney Creek.
The PC also voted to
recommend the Comprehensive Plan to the Commissioners for approval.
