The following was sent to KIDL as a Press Release, and also appeared as a Letter to the Editor, page 5A, Record Observer, June 7th 2002 Candidates get Questionnaire The Queen Anne's County Responsible Growth Political Action Committee has sent a questionnaire to all officially declared candidates for the Office of County Commissioner. The candidates will be asked to respond to questions covering their ideas and plans for addressing the areas of responsible growth, fiscal issues, and environmental issues. The questionnaire also addresses the candidate's approach to governance. The distribution of this questionnaire is the first step in the nonpartisan process of selecting and supporting candidates who will be responsive to the local citizens and to the realities of the Eastern Shore's fragile environment; candidates who will work to provide the proper controls and safeguards to guarantee a sustainable level of growth. As a part of the endorsement process the completion of the questionnaire may be followed by a request for a meeting between the candidate and the PAC Steering Committee. We are hopefull the candidates will embrace this process as an important way to inform the voters about their platform and how they will implement it, and that they would agree that an informed voter is an asset to the community. The candidates responses will be made available to the public and the press.
