Kent Island: Group forms action committee A group of Queen Anne's County residents has formed a new political action committee to support candidates in the November election who promote responsible growth. The Queen Anne's County Responsible Growth Political Action Committee was prompted by "an awareness of devastatingly rapid growth," said Cindy Parr of Kent Island, spokesman for the group. "It is just thundering down the hill here. We're very concerned that the county's infrastructure won't be able to handle it," she said. The committee, made up of mostly Kent Island residents, plans to recruit, promote, elect and support candidates, according to the committee's mission statement. The group plans to send a questionnaire this summer to all of the candidates and then have a forum. The nonprofit, nonpartisan group is accepting donations, which it plans to use to campaign for candidates who will provide "the proper controls and safeguard to guarantee a sustainable growth." "We really want good candidates, people we can trust," Ms. Parr said.
