I just wanted to compliment you on your terrific web sight, congratulate you on your victory w/ the Board of Public Works and the 4 Seasons development, and ask you for advice (if you have the time to respond).

We here in the Cobb Neck section of Charles County are preparing for a meeting before MDE/Army Corp by US STEEL/Brookfield homes to apply for permits for a bridge over state wetland to a peninsula in the flood plane, 2 marina's and several observation piers. There is a lot of grass roots opposition to this development, but we are in no way as organized as you. 

There are a lot of similarities to this development and the 4 Season's ( including at least one of the attorneys for the developers).  An I was wondering if you can give us some advice on how to proceed.  We are hoping to have a large turnout at the meeting on October 1st, but many people are discouraged.  I keep pointing to your work on Kent Island as proof that all is not lost. 

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

KIDL Web Guys Says:  Thanks so much for your kind words regarding the site, and the KIDL's noble fight.  Yes the Wetlands License denial was a major victory, but the fight is not over yet.  The best advice I can give you is to get the right people involved in a hierarchy (someone has to be in charge), make a plan, attend public meetings, give oral and present written testimony, contact elected representatives on the local and state level,  put together a web site that is updated as often as possible, develop an email list, send out news and meetings to that list, add it all to the web site, make people aware of your web site, i.e. banners, local advertising, public shopping areas, etc., keep fighting, don't get discouraged, and keep your fingers crossed.
