Gene M. Ransom III, a life
long resident of Queen Anne’’s County, is a graduate of Queen Anne’’s County
public schools, an honors graduate of University of Maryland and a graduate
of University of Baltimore School of Law. Gene is running because he believes
the Queen Anne’’s County Commission should require smart growth and protect
open spaces. With regard to education, Gene feels the Commission needs
to work to reduce class sizes, modernize facilities, provide more training
and opportunities for teachers, and pay good salaries to attract and retain
the top teachers in Maryland. As far as public safety Gene wants the Commission
to give the Sheriff’’s Department the tools to fight crime and our growing
drug problem. Gene explained "we need to attract and keep highly trained
and skilled local officers." Furthermore, Gene wants Queen Anne’’s County
to support, promote, and work with one of its strongest resources, its
volunteer firefighters. For more information go to his web site at www.generansom.com/
